“Real luxury is time and opportunity to read for pleasure.” – Jane Brody
My passion is reading. I read promiscuously: books, magazines, graphic novels, newspapers, blogs, posts, letters. I read words in various media forms: paper, Nook, Kindle, iPod, desktop, laptop. I read all manner of genre: general fiction, ancient literature, science fiction, historical fiction, biographies, autobiographies, classic literature, food memoirs, book series, epistlatory novels, steampunk, diaries, space operas, journals, humor. I credit my 6th grade English teacher, Mrs. Briggs, for my voracious appetite for words and stories. Thank you, Mrs. Briggs, you gave me more than you’ll ever know.
I will post mostly about books that have made an impression on me, good or bad. I don’t do this as a living, just to share my passion about reading, books and stories.
Finally, I’ve been a volunteer adult literacy tutor for over 20 years. I believe that literacy is a basic human right.
FYI: The ads you see on my blog I have no control over as this is part of the “free” blogging package on WordPress. If you’re upset by them, go yell at WordPress.
